personally i was kinda pissed with how ark looked. i thought he was diferant and not a game lil ship

Despite the fact that you're a stupid little ass-monkey, I do appreciate the fact that you contribute to this section of the Shrine. =)

I've never been much of an Ark fan, I've always thought it looked plain stupid, and I never cared much for its exhaustingly long animation either.

05-25-2007, 09:51 PM
It's animation was a bit too 'Transformer-esque' for my liking (not that theres anything wrong with Transformers). Too much pointless emphasism on it's gears and parts spinning around and clipping together.

It was useful with Regen I suppose.

9999 max dmg for the ultimate summon sucked....

05-26-2007, 03:33 PM
I loved the fact that I could summon Ark, go get a drink from the kitchen, come back, and he'd still be summoning by the time I got back. The animation is freeking over 2 minutes long. XP

05-26-2007, 06:37 PM
He's kinda like Erde Kaiser in Xenosaga. Slightly out-of-place, but I love him just the same.

Don't really care for Ark. Not a fan of summons that take forever to load for little reward. Also, I have a strong tendency to use Eiko in my party instead of Dagger/Garnet.

I actually like Ark! However, I don't really care about the out-of-place-Transformer-like-design or the damage it does to everybody, BUT then again, that summon is Terra-related, so it's fine by me. ^_^

so everyone agrees. stang how this is the first time in ffs history this has happened

"waits to be prooven wrong"

It's a big ship. What was to like about it? I never understood why a giant ship was in that place anyway. Worst of all, why the hell wasn't it my ride?

06-19-2007, 09:55 PM
Lol @ "Prooven" reminds me of the ghostbuster game on the SNES ending.

In Oelivert? I was always under the impression that it was the first prototype airship that the holograms talk about. Could be wrong though.

man i hardly even remember ark or any of the other eidelons to be honest. out of all the times ive played through ix, ive only summoned like five times altogether. only one i can remember off the top of my head is ramuh i think. but yeah, reading through this thread, ark sounds a bit turd so i probably wouldnt have liked him anyway

he's strong. but looks like a transformer. prak might like him

The only thing I liked about Ark is that it probably made Square realise that they should let people choose shorter summon animations in any future FF games they made.

06-23-2007, 03:20 AM
Well, funny thing is, FFIX had both short and long-form summon animations. But if I recall correctly, the long-form would only rarely show up unless you equipped the Boost ability. Or did that apply to Ark?

06-23-2007, 05:24 AM
It applied to them all.

Full animations meant that the summon would do the full potential damage it could, and short animations meant that only a fraction (something like 2/3) of the potential damage would be done.

fuck you guys make me wanna play ff9 again. fuck im going to the pawn shop

06-24-2007, 09:37 PM
Yeah, I knew about the shorter animations, but you still couldn't choose, and as said the shorter animation always did less damage anyway. FFX definitely had the right idea in giving the choice.

ff9 seemed incomplite needed more on freya and amerant. but the "J0bs" were perfect

Considering Ozma and most bosses in the game had around 50k HP total, 9999 is pretty high, but spamming Grand Lethal on Zidane = orgasm. I wasn't impressed with Ark, at all =p

Actually, Ark reminded me of the Wing Zero Gundam but with Robotech/Macross mini missiles. I Liked Ark because it was different and, well I do like giant transforming robots. I'm also a big fan of Alexander, especially from 6. Judgment looked awesome and kicked serious ass.

I really enjoyed watching how ark blasts the enemy but it doesn't fit in well with the other summons because of how he is more of a transforming ship thing with a weapon then a monster using an elemental power.

Perhaps, but then the same could be said for the Eidolon Alexander, which the castle of Alexandria itself transforms into. It's a lot like the autobot Metroplex.

07-25-2007, 10:45 AM
I haven't a problem with Ark's animation. I found Eden's animation form VIII much more tedious. But he damage Ark did was a bit unimpressive seen as how it was meant to be the most powerful eidolon in the game.

08-12-2007, 06:48 PM
I liked him, by his looks (Black Robot)
In FFIX, the damage limit is 9999, it cant go higher.
