It's unknown how different it is but why not download it for free and find out.

800 mb's sounds like a lot. I'm not really good with computers so I'm not sure if mine could hold all that information. But I would like to try it.

12-30-2007, 11:02 PM
Thats very interesting, I'll give it a try. Thanks!

12-31-2007, 04:25 PM
IDK, I might give it a try eventually

12-31-2007, 05:21 PM
Well I'm right at the point where Brahne sends the Bomb to destroy the ship, and I see no differences so far. Also, i was able to load a save file from my previous play through Disc 1 with ePSXe, so I'm not convinced that this is actually a beta version.

01-01-2008, 01:59 AM
Well these guys who release this kind of material always make sure what their buying into is real.

Being a Beta version doesn't make it very different but I assume some dialogue is altered at least.

01-01-2008, 07:28 PM
I took some pictures, and I'll upload them later. I think you are right, some dialogue is altered

01-01-2008, 11:58 PM

Some pictures would be much appreciated. :)

Downloading it myself right now-big thanks to Denny for posting this up.

Apparently, I've checked everything on an in depth FFIX script on gamefaqs, and I've been mistaken. Sorry guys :(

But I'm sure there are going to be some obvious differences after entering Lindblum. After all its just the beginning of the game.

01-02-2008, 06:20 PM
Hmmm interesting.

Well, there must only be minor changes then. The only thing I could imagine that's different now is possibly animations. Then again, it seems no one else in the Final Fantasy is even bothering to find out the differences (if any) so I guess this is a first.

If you guys are going to play it further I'd really appreciate any updates. I find it very interesting.

Thanks! :)

01-03-2008, 12:19 AM
I'll play through it, and if I spot any differences I'll let you guys know!

01-03-2008, 04:58 AM
This isn't really something I could do, but I'm definitely looking forward to hearing about the details on this.

01-04-2008, 03:19 AM
So I downloaded it, now how do I run it?

Keep inmind I have an XP and this download and zipfile is making it lag more than a Compaq

01-04-2008, 03:59 AM
Well, if I understand correctly, you need to have the ePSXe emulator installed on your computer in order to run it.

01-04-2008, 04:24 AM
Okay I'll look into that...thank you.

01-06-2008, 12:09 AM
I`m downloading it... I can`t stop wandering about the differences if there are any at all.

I have read before about a bug affecting early versions of the game that allows you to glitch the game by getting a flying chocobo before you have access to the Hilda Garde III. Somebody try this out if you get far enough along and see if you can do this.

01-06-2008, 04:34 AM
See if you can do the chocobo hot & cold game on disc 3 before Zidane gives Dagger the garnet (ie. before Esto Gaza), up to the point you can dive for treasures. The treasure at the bottom of Quan's Dwelling may have garnets in it.

I have one of the early releases of the Japanese FFIX, and this was a "glitch" that was changed in all of the English copies of FFIX I've played. The garnets were changed to ores so you couldn't get Dagger the Bahamut/garnet ability earlier than the plotline dictates.

Dunno if that's something that counts. ^^

01-06-2008, 05:04 AM
Sure it counts, if it gives you something that you shouldn't be able to have access to, according to the dictates of the plot.

This looks pretty interesting, I'll check this out too. I haven't played FF9 in some time. What other glitches are known about this game?

01-06-2008, 12:42 PM
Thanks to kurohime and the Agent for the info. It will be useful when I reach the Chocobo Forest.

01-06-2008, 05:29 PM
ROKI, if you're interested in more info, this guide at GameFAQs ( (I love that we can direct-link now!) describes the bug in its FAQ section.

01-07-2008, 12:12 PM
I see. All I have to do is make a gold chocobo while I still have blue Narciss?

01-08-2008, 02:13 AM
Yep, exactly. If you can manage that, then you should be able to glitch the game. Save a backup savefile, of course.

01-08-2008, 08:55 PM
Don't you need to get the Gold Chocobo, then go to the Air Garden in order for the game to glitch?

Also, I still can't get it to run...

01-08-2008, 10:05 PM
Erm, I dunno. Do you? I mean I would think just the fact that you would be able to navigate to places such as Daguerreo that you normally wouldn't be able to access without the Hilda Garde III would cause it to be glitchy.

01-08-2008, 10:12 PM
After looking upthis guide at GameFaqs (
it has a lot of details about the Gold Chocobo Glitch.

01-09-2008, 12:09 AM
I thought such a document existed, but I was looking in the wrong place. Thanks.

Please , can you reup this?

02-25-2010, 07:17 PM
The thread is old and there's already been one request for a reupload, which didn't happen, so I kinda doubt it's going to. I'm going to close this.
